Originally a Park Ward 4- door saloon. Body number C1290.
Delivered in Great Britain on the 15th of December 1937 to Mr. G.O. Lawton.
On arrival in South Africa the car was rebuilt by a Mr. Hartley.
When Mr. Hartley died in 1992, the car was bought from his estate by Bill Hocking of Harding near Port Shepstone, Kwazulu Natal.
Bill Hocking sold the car to Johan Schultz from Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape in March 1999.
Johan is well known in South Africa for his meticulous restoration of various cars including a Phantom I, Chassis 37UF.
This car (pics attached) was partly re-bodied by Johan to a Drophead Coupe using ash and aluminium.
Bonnet scuttle as well as front and rear wings from the original Park Ward body.
Black with beige interior.
Nut and bolt restoration.
Chassis restored from front to rear.
Rebuilt engine, gearbox and differential.
New cloth covered wire loom.
Most of the new parts were bought from Fiennes, England.
The chassis is very original and includes the starting handle, jack and handbook.
